Excluded and Doubtful Species

Nassella barrancaensis (F. A. Roig) Barkworth [≡ Stipa barrancaensis F. A. Roig].

Nassella brachychaeta (Godron) Barkworth [≡ Stipa brachychaeta Godron]

The transfer of the above  species to Nassella by Barkworth was a mistake that she regrets. Stipa barrancaensis belongs in subg. Pappostipa and S. brachychaeta belongs in subg. Dasystipa Speg. Both subgenera should probably be excluded from Stipa s.s., but no new names are being proposed pending further study.

Nassella aemulans Phil. f.,  Cat. Pl. Vasc. Chil. 328.  Type: Chile.
