Permits

COLLECTING PERMIT POLICY

The Intermountain Herbarium regularly requests collecting permits for USDA Forest Service Region 4 (the Intermountain Region), and other regions that Herbarium personnel plan on working. These requests are made yearly at or near the end of February. Collecting permits for other lands are requested as needed. Others University personnel will be added to herbarium permits upon request, or permits will be requested for them on an individual basis.

All permitees on Herbarium permits are required to conform to the policies stated on/with the permit, and deposit one complete set of specimens in the herbarium.

Questions about the permitting process or if a permit is needed should be directed to the Assistant Curator at least four (4) weeks prior to the beginning of field work to insure enough time for the permitting process.
