generic names were published. It does not include invalid names. The center
column gives the name of the individual who published the name at the generic rank.
Many genera were initially published at an infragenetic level. The data are taken
primarily from Clayton and Renvoize
(1986).
Names in red represent genera that are widely accepted; fuschia
names represent genera that are in dispute; black names represent
genera that are usually rejected. Names in green are too recently
published to have a track record of acceptance or non-acceptance.
