The following check list is based on a report prepared
by Kevin Christensen, Chris Lounsberry, and Jack Sengl, the self-styled "Botanical
Dream Team", in partial fulfillment of the requirements of Botany 221, Plants of
Utah. The identifications have been checked by Barkworth
and specimens will be deposited in the Intermountain Herbarium. Crimson Trail ranges in elevation from 5200-5900 ft and is 3.4 miles
in length. The initial portion is steep, up a west-facing slope that is rocky, dry,
and has little shade. This is followed by a relatively level stretch along a north
facing slope which has a moderate degree of shade and features a variety of trees, shrubs,
and grasses. The last portion has a northeastern exposure and is the shadiest and
most moist portion of the trail. It features a dense underbrush of both flowering
plants and bryophytes. All collections were made between July 6 and 13, 1998.
